Cursed

Most of us know her as Medusa - an evil and hideous woman with a head of snakes in place of hair that turns those looking upon her into stone.

The truth is…Medusa was a stunningly beautiful woman that was never the enemy but instead the victim. Poseidon (God of the sea) took advantage of her, and Athena (Goddess of war) blamed her for Poseidon’s transgressions.

Athena with all her jealousy and rage cursed Medusa by replacing her beautiful hair with snakes, and by making it so that anyone looking upon her would turn into stone.

Medusa was always the victim of the story. The victim of those that fail to take responsibility, and the victim of those that enable those responsible.

Medusa is a story of what happens when we are afraid to face who we really are; we curse those that remind us and in doing so, we turn into stone.
